The Gambia U-20 suffered a 2-1 defeat to Senegal U-23 in their second international friendly, completing back-to-back defeats against the Senegalese side.

Aliou Dieme opened the scoring in the 18th minute after goalkeeper Alagie Saikou Kassama pulled a Senegalese cross towards the area, allowing Aliou Dieme to capitalise and put Senegal ahead.

Senegal doubled their advantage in the 32nd minute through Sidy Ndiaye. Alagie Kassama parried a Senegalese free kick, but Sidy Ndiaye reacted quickest to the rebound and finished to make it 2-0.

The Young Scorpions responded just before half-time when Francis Gomez pulled one back with a fine finish to reduce the deficit to 2-1.

The result means the Young Scorpions have lost both friendly encounters against Senegal U-23, following their 3-1 defeat in the first meeting.

The two matches provided valuable preparation for The Gambia U-20 ahead of their upcoming WAFU A U-20 Championship campaign.
