Senegal’s exports of hydraulic cement to The Gambia increased tenfold during the first quarter of 2026 compared with the same period in 2025, according to the latest figures from Senegal’s National Agency for Statistics and Demography.
The increase comes as Senegal’s cement industry continues to expand, supported by higher production capacity at Sococim and Dangote Cement Senegal.

Vicat, the parent company of Sococim, said in its first-quarter 2026 financial report that cement sales volumes in Senegal recorded moderate growth, reflecting continued expansion in the country’s cement sector.
