A man from Sukuta has been sentenced to two years in jail for stealing moulded bricks at Kerr Serigne. 

Amadou Manneh was found guilty yesterday at the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court.

The court was told that Manneh hired two trucks and the services of some labourers to steal moulded bricks belonging to one Janko Jaiteh at Kerr Serigne.

He carried out the brazen act in broad daylight. He was arrested with his accomplices by the Tourism Security Unit after a tip-off. 

Manneh was ordered to compensate the complainant Janko Jaiteh the sum of D20,000 in default to serve another two years in jail.
