Two bankers who fled to Senegal after allegedly stealing from their employer, Access Bank, have been deported, police say.

Access Bank Barra branch manager Sarjo Corr and his deputy Momodou Juldeh Jallow were alleged to have stolen 21 million dalasi from the bank. 

Senegalese police arrested the fugitive who were found to be in cash possession of about $80,000.

“We can officially confirm that, the two suspects Juldeh Jallow and Sarjo Jallow in Access Bank, Barra branch fraud case have been arrested and are currently helping the police in their investigations,” police spokesman Superintendent Lamin Njie told Gambiana on Thursday.

He added: “A confirmed amount of about D21,437,722:90 was missing.”
