A senior executive of the opposition United Democratic Party Ebrima Sanneh has died, his family said. 

Mr Sanneh popular known as Baba Eks died yesterday in Brikama after a brief illness.

“Our heartfelt condolences to the family of Baba Eks. May his soul rest in peace,” UDP said in a statement. 

Baba Eks was a very active UDP senior executive and rumoured to be the party’s preferred candidate in a by-election to replace Sheriffo Sonko, chairman of Brikama Area Council, who was ousted by the party for intransigence. 

Unfortunately the by-election never happened after the High Court in Banjul ruled in Mr Sonko’s favour last week.
