Lare Sisay, a senior official of the United Democratic Party (UDP), has warned that the current administration led by President Adama Barrow should take note of growing public discontent, as revealed in recent opinion polls.

Speaking on Coffee Times, Sisay noted that key indicators such as perceptions of democracy, job creation, and economic management show negative trends, suggesting that the Barrow government may be facing a challenging political climate ahead of the December 5th elections.

Sisay explained that if the UDP were in government, the party would be deeply concerned about the findings, highlighting that citizens’ dissatisfaction with leadership and governance issues cannot be ignored.

He stressed that the electorate’s lack of confidence in institutions, particularly regarding the handling of elections and economic pressures, reflects wider frustration that the Barrow administration must address.

The UDP official also observed that the poll underscores the importance of responsive governance, transparency, and attention to citizen concerns.

While emphasizing that the results do not automatically predict election outcomes, Sisay framed the findings as a clear signal to the ruling government that voters are critically evaluating their performance.

Sisay’s commentary comes amid ongoing debates about the formation of opposition coalitions, the state of the economy, and concerns over election integrity, all of which continue to dominate political discourse in the country.
