The West Coast Regional Sports Committee (WCRSC) has ordered an immediate suspension of the rescheduled Zonal match between Gunjur and Sanyang following an official appeal lodged by the Sanyang Zonal Team.

In a directive issued by the WCRSC Secretary General, Bakary Sussoh, the committee confirmed that it had “received an appeal from the Sanyang Zonal Team protesting the decisions made by the Appeal and Disciplinary Committee (ADC) of the West Coast Region Zonal Committee.”

As a result, the WCRSC instructed the Organising Committee to “immediately place a hold on the rescheduled fixture between Gunjur Zonal Team vs Sanyang Zonal Team until this matter is resolved at the soonest possible time.”

The committee emphasised that the ongoing dispute must be addressed swiftly “to allow the tournament to continue smoothly.”

The WCRSC has also requested several key documents to aid its review, asking the OC to submit, “on Monday, on or before 10:00am: the Match Form, the Referee’s Report and Match Commissioner’s Report, all correspondence including the OC verdict and Gunjur’s appeal letter, as well as the ADC verdict issued to both teams.”

Sussoh concluded the directive by urging cooperation from all parties, stating that the committee intends to address the matter “with urgency” and relies on their support “in enabling us to effectively execute our functions.”
