World Court rules in Gambia’s favour on provisional measures and orders Myanmar to protect the Rohingya people from genocidal acts

The International Court of Justice, the United Nations’ highest court, has issued its decision on the Gambia’s request for emergency measures to prevent Myanmar conducting genocide against its Rohingya Muslim minority.

The court orders Myanmar to take all measures to prevent genocidal acts against the Rohingya people in Rakhine state.

Myanmar has been ordered by the court to provide a report in four months and thereafter every six months on the actions to protect the Rohingya people.
