
The Governing Council and Advisory Committee of the African Centre for Democracy and Human Rights Studies (ACDHRS) paid a courtesy visit to the Hon. Chief Justice Hassan B. Jallow as part of its ongoing engagements following the inauguration of its newly constituted leadership.
The delegation, led by Hon. Justice Solomy Bossa, International Criminal Court Judge and Chairperson of the Governing Council, expressed deep appreciation for Chief Justice Jallow’s foundational role in establishing ACDHRS and serving as its first Chairperson. She emphasised the Council’s diversity and expertise, underscoring the importance of sustained collaboration with the judiciary to strengthen democratic and human rights efforts across Africa.
Chief Justice Jallow welcomed the delegation warmly and reflected on the Centre’s progress:
“The Centre has truly grown. It has become a leading non-governmental human rights institution, setting a benchmark in advocating for human rights, promoting social justice, and delivering impactful community programmes.”
Mrs. Hannah Forster, ACDHRS Executive Director, also briefed the Chief Justice on ongoing initiatives, particularly an upcoming training programme for human rights defenders.
