Adama Barrow on Wednesday received a delegation of alkalos from Manjago communities to discuss longstanding land disputes and other concerns affecting their areas.
The meeting, held at the State House, focused on resolving recurring conflicts over land ownership, which community leaders say continue to undermine peace and social cohesion.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Davide C. Gomez, Alkalo of Fallah, said land disputes remain a persistent challenge across Manjago communities.

He called for stronger engagement with authorities to help secure fair and lasting solutions.
President Barrow, in response, urged community leaders to remain calm and prioritise proper land documentation as a key step in preventing disputes.
He assured the delegation of the government’s commitment to working with all stakeholders to ensure peaceful resolutions.
The alkalos welcomed the engagement, expressing gratitude for the audience and describing the dialogue as a positive move towards addressing tensions and strengthening stability within their communities.
