
President Adama Barrow held two meetings in Daru Mbayen and Njoben as part of his nationwide tour, where he outlined ongoing development projects for communities in the Central River Region North.
Addressing residents, the president said his government has continued to support the region’s agricultural sector.
In 2025, more than 2,000 bags of fertiliser and 370 bags of certified rice seeds were distributed to farmers in CRR North.
Four tractors were also provided to communities in Wassu, Pallen, Ngunta and the Sami Cooperative to boost production.
He added that the government is responding to further farming needs, including post-harvest support.

Vegetable gardens are being constructed in Sangule, Banni and Changai Wolof to improve livelihoods and strengthen food and nutrition security.
Post-harvest equipment for maize, findi and rice is expected to be provided in 2026.
On skills development, President Barrow said the newly established Medina Multipurpose Skills Centre in Wassu will enrol 300 students annually to help tackle youth unemployment and stimulate economic growth.

The president also highlighted improved access to water through borehole projects that have benefitted more than 15 communities in CRR North.
He assured residents that his government will continue to expand road, electricity and water infrastructure in the region.
He said the initiatives reflect his administration’s commitment to addressing the needs of rural communities.
