President Adama Barrow has inaugurated Lot Two of the University of The Gambia’s Faraba Banta Campus, hailing the project as a major milestone in the country’s higher education development.

Speaking at the ceremony, President Barrow described the new phase as “a living testament to our visionary leadership, strategic investment, and collective belief that knowledge is instrumental to national transformation.”

Lot Two comprises the Akinwumi Adesina School of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences, a fully equipped Faculty of Law with a modern Moot Court, and the Chancery Building.

The president said the expanded infrastructure brings the university closer to its long-term goal of becoming “a complete, residential, and research-oriented campus capable of hosting thousands of students and scholars.”

He further announced that preparations are underway to lay the foundation stone for Lot Three, which will house the School of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences.

According to him, the facility is expected to revolutionise medical training and health research in The Gambia.
