The Bundung Magistrates’ Court has sentenced two men to five years in prison after finding them guilty of indecent practice between males.

The convicted men, Muhammed Krubally and Muhammad Jawo, were charged under Section 147(1) of the Criminal Code, Cap. 10 Vol. III of the Revised Laws of The Gambia.

The case was first mentioned before Magistrate I. Jallow on 7 August 2025, when both accused pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Following trial proceedings, the court on 12 March 2026 found the two men guilty as charged and handed down the mandatory custodial sentence of five years.

They are to serve their sentences at the State Central Prison, Mile II.

Police said the conviction reflects the force’s continued efforts to investigate criminal offences and ensure offenders are brought to justice in accordance with the laws of The Gambia.
