The Confederation African Football (CAF) has launched a detailed investigation following unacceptable behaviour by players and officials during the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025 final between Morocco and Senegal in Rabat.

CAF confirmed it is scrutinising all available footage from the match, including on-pitch incidents, sideline confrontations, and interactions with referees and match organizers.

It said the review will examine multiple camera angles, VAR footage, and official reports from match officials to ensure every incident is thoroughly assessed.

“CAF strongly condemns any inappropriate behaviour which occurs during matches, especially those targeting the refereeing team or match organizers,” the governing body said in a statement.

The results of the review will be sent to competent disciplinary bodies, which will determine sanctions for anyone found guilty.

CAF is reportedly looking at both players’ conduct during the game and the behaviour of officials off the pitch, highlighting its commitment to maintaining discipline and integrity in Africa’s top football competition.

CAF warned that swift and transparent action will follow, sending a clear message that misconduct at major matches will not be tolerated.
