Dabanani Chambers has held a thanksgiving dinner at La Parisienne Restaurant following the acquittal and discharge of Abdoulie Sanyang, who had been standing trial on charges of arson and interference in judicial proceedings.

The dinner brought together members of the legal team shortly after the High Court ruling, which cleared Sanyang of all charges.

The defence was led by Counsel Lamin J. Darboe, whose team argued that the prosecution had failed to establish its case against the accused.

According to the chambers, the legal victory was largely anchored on the defence’s final written submissions, which the court reportedly referenced while delivering its judgement.

Those present at the dinner described the mood as one of relief and celebration, as the verdict brought an end to what they considered a difficult legal battle.

Sanyang was acquitted on all counts after the court ruled that the evidence presented by the prosecution was insufficient to sustain the charges.

The ruling was welcomed by members of the defence team, who described it as a reaffirmation of due process and the importance of fair trial standards within the justice system.
