Doudou Jah has responded strongly to allegations by the UNITE movement against President Adama Barrow, defending the president’s approach to key national appointments and dismissing claims of political inconsistency.

Jah stated that President Adama Barrow would not appoint any politician with presidential ambitions to the position of vice president.

According to him, the president has consistently demonstrated a preference for individuals without active political aspirations for the country’s top executive roles.

He cited the late Badara Alieu Joof as a prime example, noting that his appointment was widely welcomed by the public and political observers alike.

He described Joof as a dedicated public servant whose performance reflected professionalism and commitment to national development.

Following Joof’s passing, Jah argued that the president’s subsequent decision to appoint another non-politician further underscored his resolve to avoid elevating individuals with presidential ambitions to the vice-presidential office.

In addition, Jah rejected claims that the Ministry of Trade had ever been left vacant, maintaining that the ministry has remained operational and properly managed throughout.
