The Gambia Dutch Lions produced a commanding performance to defeat defending champions Real de Banjul 2–0 at their own Live Your Dream Project Complex in Basori, a result that lifts the Lions to second place in the Gambia Football Federation Division One League.

The breakthrough came deep into first-half added time when captain Gibril Dumbuya calmly guided home Musa Sima’s well-delivered free kick, giving the visitors a deserved lead at the interval.

Real de Banjul pushed for an equaliser after the break, but the Dutch Lions remained resolute.

The victory was sealed in the 87th minute by Ibrahima Diallo, who fired in a superb goal to continue his fine form. It was Diallo’s fifth goal in just four matches.

The defeat marks a rare low point for Real de Banjul, who have now lost back-to-back matches for the first time since April 2023, when they were beaten by Falcons and Marimoo Parkfood.
