ECOWAS Parliamentary chairman on Political Affairs Sen. Edwin Melvin Snowe Jr visits The Gambia ahead of the December 4 presidential election.

The envoy is in the country to assess the political and security situations as well as preparations for the upcoming election.

Sen. Snowe and delegation held a close door meeting on Wednesday with the chairman and members of the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC).

He expressed confidence that the commission will deliver a free, fair, and transparent election and admonished the commissioners to always maintain their neutrality.

The senator was by the Secretary-General of the ECOWAS Parliament, John Azumah of Ghana.
