Youths in Fajikunda have launched a community-driven initiative to support the police and community leaders in promoting peace, preventing crime and improving public safety in the community.

The initiative brings together young people who believe that maintaining security should not be left to law enforcement alone, but requires the active participation of residents.

The youths say they are ready to work closely with the police, community leaders, parents and other stakeholders to help prevent crime and create a safer environment for everyone.

They said their initiative is not intended to target, intimidate or discriminate against young people, particularly children and youths in Fajikunda.

Instead, they said their focus is on guiding, protecting and supporting young people while encouraging them to become responsible members of the community.

“Police officers cannot do everything alone. Community safety is everyone’s responsibility,” the youths said.

They believe stronger cooperation between residents and law enforcement can help identify potential security challenges early and contribute to preventing crime before it occurs.

The initiative also seeks to promote dialogue, unity and peaceful coexistence among residents, while encouraging young people to play a more active role in the development and security of their community.

The youths said young people should not only be viewed as a security concern but also as important partners in efforts to maintain peace and stability.

They are calling on parents and community leaders to support the initiative and help guide young people towards positive activities.

The group also urged residents to cooperate with the police and share relevant information that could assist in preventing crime while respecting the rights and dignity of all members of the community.

According to the youths, the initiative is ultimately about creating a stronger relationship between the community and law enforcement.

They believe that through cooperation, responsible participation and open dialogue, Fajikunda can build a safer environment where young people can grow and contribute positively to society.

The youths are therefore calling for collective action from residents, parents, community leaders and the police to strengthen community safety and build a more peaceful Fajikunda for present and future generations.
