Five men have been convicted by the Brusubi Magistrates’ Court after admitting to multiple traffic offences, including dangerous driving, unlicensed driving, and unauthorised use of tinted glass.

The convicts — Momodou Martin Sanyang, Sering Mass Gaye, Muhammed Bah, Ismaila Faal, and Samba Ceesay — appeared before Magistrate Jallow following their arrest by the Anti-Crime Unit.

According to the facts presented in court, the men were part of a convoy of more than 30 vehicles that drove recklessly along the Sukuta–Jabang Highway on 10 August 2025.

Their actions posed serious risks to public safety and sparked confrontations with residents of Jabang, resulting in damage to several vehicles.

The Anti-Crime Unit intervened, arrested the accused, and impounded their vehicles.

The five later pleaded guilty to the charges.

The case has been adjourned to Wednesday, 20 August 2025, for sentencing. The convicts remain in prison custody.

Police have reiterated their zero-tolerance stance on dangerous driving and car drifting, warning that such reckless behaviour endangers lives and property and will continue to be met with the full force of the law.
