Kebba Tumanding Sanneh, the National Assembly member for Foni Jarrol, has condemned the Barrow government for allowing state ministers to travel and campaigned for the ruling party in the just concluded Massembeh by-election, which was won by the United Democratic Party.

Speaking on Eye Africa TV, the lawmaker criticised state ministers who left their offices to ferry to Kiang last week. He described their action as “abuse of office and waste of resources”.

“Looking at the challenges faced by the country, it was not necessary for all these state ministers to have travelled to Kiang to campaign,” he said.

According to him, President Adama Barrow shouldn’t have allowed his party to contest the by-election.

“If I were Barrow’s adviser, I would have advised him not to put a candidate against UDP to contest in the Massembeh by-election. He should just let go of this position,” he added.
