Police commissioner Abdoulie Sanyang has been appointed as the new Inspector General of Police.

Mr Sanyang, who was Deputy Inspector General of Police, was yesterday announced as the new police chief following the sudden death of his former boss Mamour Jobe last month.

“The entire management and staff of GPF congratulate him on his appointment and pray for him a successful stay in office,” the police said in a statement.

IGP Sanyang is a veteran police officer with decades of experience serving in various roles in The Gambia police force.
