The mother of Amadou Jallow, one of the Faraba Banta victims, has said she would never forgive the alleged killers of her son and that she wanted to see justice being done.

Hanjula Saidy said she did not agree with the village decision to write a letter to President Barrow asking for the trial to be discontinued.

“I did not give my consent as I want justice for my son. I will never forgive his killers”, she told Mengbe Kering

“I was contacted by the alkalo and few members of the village that we should forgive the accused police officers in the spirit of reconciliation. In response I told the alkalo of Faraba, Omar Kujabi, that I would never forgive my son’s killers.

“The alkalo later took my ID card without telling me that they were going to use it on an affidavit and a letter that was sent to President Barrow”.

An emotional Hanjula Saidy urged President Barrow to reconsider his decision to pardon the accused police officers and ensured that justice was done swiftly and decisively.
