The Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) has intensified its field training for special forces in The Gambia, rolling out tougher and more advanced combat exercises under the second phase of its “Kafa’a” initiative.
Troops are now being put through high-pressure building clearance drills, complex breach operations, urban combat simulations and hostage-rescue scenarios designed to mimic real-life terror confrontations.
Live-fire exercises targeting both fixed and moving objects are also part of the expanded programme, pushing the forces to sharpen their accuracy and reaction speed.

The training is being conducted by IMCTC military experts who are focused on boosting the coordination, tactical awareness and readiness of Gambian special units during dangerous missions.
IMCTC Secretary-General, Maj. Gen. Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Moghedi, said the strengthened programme shows the Coalition’s commitment to supporting member states like The Gambia in building tougher, more resilient security systems.
He added that the initiative helps transfer modern military skills and prepares elite forces capable of handling high-risk operations with precision.
The initiative is part of a broader IMCTC effort across member countries aimed at enhancing capacity-building, joint military cooperation and overall combat readiness in the ongoing fight against terrorism.
