Ismaila Ceesay has been re-elected unopposed as President of the Gambia Secondary Schools Sports Association (GSSSA) during the Association’s Elective Congress. By virtue of his position, he will also continue to serve as President of the Gambia Schools Football Association (GSFA).

The Congress also ushered in a new executive team, with Amadou Bojang, Principal of Mansa Colley Bojang Senior Secondary School, elected unopposed as Vice President of the GSSSA.

Hamadi Janko, the Coordinator of Region Two West and a teacher at Kabafita Upper Basic School was elected Secretary General, while Modou Lamin Bah, Coordinator of Region Two East assumed the role of Assistant Secretary General.

The position of Treasurer remains in the hands of Lamin A. Minteh, Principal of Mayork Senior Secondary School, who secured another term unopposed. Ismaila Jaiteh of Charles Jow Memorial Academy was also returned unopposed as Auditor General.

For the Gambia Schools Football Association, Dembo Yafa of Tahir Senior Secondary School was elected Vice President, while Bubacarr Jarju of Jamisa Upper and Senior Secondary School was elected Secretary General after previously serving as Assistant Secretary General of the GSSSA.

Pa Modou Ngum of Bansang Senior Secondary School was elected Assistant Secretary General, with Lamin O. Fofana of St. George’s Upper and Senior Secondary School taking up the role of Treasurer.

Fanta Bayo of Yundum Barracks Upper and Senior Secondary School was elected Auditor, while Kemo Janko, Principal of New Covenant Upper Basic School, was elected Trustee of the Gambia Schools Football Association.

All positions on both the GSSSA and GSFA executive committees were filled unopposed, giving the newly elected leadership a fresh mandate to oversee the administration and development of secondary school sports and school football across The Gambia.
