Ali Nyassi, chief of Foni Kansala, has dismissed as “untrue” the reports that three young men were killed on Gambian soil by Senegalese military drone.

However, residents including the national assembly member for Foni Kansala told reporters that the three young men were killed by Senegalese miliatry drone while fetching firewood.

However, Gambiana has obtained national indentity cards which showed that the three deceased are Senegalese refugees fleeing conflict in Senegal’s southern region of Casamance.

“These people were shot in Kajalock [which] is in Casamance by Senegalese forces. From what we have seen, what brought them to that place I know but I will not reveal their mission that led to their deaths,” chief Nyassi told Gambiana.

“They were not killed while fetching firewoods. There was no politics. I and others know the mission they went for until they lost their lives,” he added.

The deceased have been identified as Demba Kolley, Ebrima Kolley and Alhagie Manka.
