New Generation FA have been crowned champions of the Dr Ismaila Ceesay-sponsored U-15 Academy Tournament after defeating BK 31 FA 1-0 in the final played at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium.

Peter Mendy scored the decisive goal in the 35th minute, converting from a wonderful outswinging cross delivered by Ismaila Sanyang to give New Generation FA the lead.

The goal proved to be enough as New Generation FA held on to secure the championship title and lift the trophy.

As champions, New Generation FA received a cash prize of D15,000, a set of jerseys and a trophy, while runners-up BK 31 FA received D10,000 and a set of jerseys.

The final attracted a distinguished gathering, including the Hon. Dr Ismaila Ceesay, Minister of Information, Media and Broadcasting Services; Governor Ousman Bojang of the West Coast Region; Presidential Adviser Momodou Sabally; and the Chiefs of Brikama North and Brikama South, among other dignitaries.

The tournament provided a valuable platform for young footballers to showcase their talent while promoting youth development and grassroots football in the region.
