Police have arrested a group of protesters who gathered at the Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA) headquarters to demonstrate against the regulator’s controversial new data minimum price.
The small crowd had assembled peacefully outside PURA’s main gate, but officers quickly moved in, dispersing them and taking all participants into custody.
The arrests follow earlier police warnings that no permit had been granted for the protest.

Despite this, demonstrators insisted they were exercising their right to be heard over what many Gambians have described as an unnecessary and costly decision.
