Police have arrested two men over multiple robbery cases including an incident where a driver was robbed at gunpoint.

Last week, Gambiana reported that a driver accompanying a passenger to the airport was robbed of his taxi at gunpoint along the Sukuta-Jabang Highway.

In response to multiple reported robbery cases, Sukuta and Latriya Police launched a joint man-hunt, which led to the apprehension  of the suspects.

“In one incident, a businessman from Jambur was attacked near the Jabang Forest, losing cash, electronics, and personal documents valued at D500,000. In another, a Busumbala couple was targeted near Salaji Forest, losing D96,000. Both incidents left victims injured.

“The total stolen items amount to D666,660. The CID swiftly acted on intelligence, recovering the vehicle used, weapons, and some stolen items,” Gambia police said in a statement.
