Police have granted permit to Three Years Jotna to stage their protest scheduled for December 16.

The chairman of Three Years Jotna, Abdou Njie told Gambiana that the Inspector General of Police had phoned him to pick up the protest permit tomorrow.

“Tomorrow by 10am I will receive the permit from the Police IG,” the Tallinding resident said.

The leader of the anti-Barrow pressure group said when he returns from collecting the permit at the Police Headquarters in Banjul, he will proceed to sensitise the members of the group on the conditions attached to  the new permit.

“I will mobilise them and go from each constituency to update them for preparation for the protest,” Mr. Njie said.

Three Years Jotna, is a political pressure group that claimed to hold President Barrow to account over his 2016 election promise to step down after three years if he was elected president.

The President has already made his position clear that he won’t step down as the constitution guarantees him a five year term.
