Police in the Central River Region North are searching for a man after a shooting incident in Kerr Makka Tukulor, Upper Saloum District, left one person injured.

The incident followed an altercation between two brothers.

According to preliminary police investigations, the suspect, identified as Sarjo Jawara Senior, allegedly obtained a locally made hunting gun during the altercation.

Alieu Njie, who reportedly intervened in an attempt to separate the two brothers, sustained a gunshot wound to his left arm.

He was initially taken to Njau Health Centre before being referred to Farafenni General Hospital for further treatment.

Police investigators, including the CRR North CSI/CRO team, visited and processed the scene following the report.

A search of the area led to the recovery of a locally made hunting gun, one spent cartridge and an empty cartridge cover.

The firearm has been secured for forensic examination.

The suspect remains at large as police continue efforts to locate and apprehend him.
