Police have questioned Rambo Jatta over comments he made about Toufah Jallow, a former beauty queen who accused Jammeh of raping her.

Jatta, deputy leader of the APRC party, was questioned on Friday at the Police Headquarters in Banjul over a statement he made last year at a political rally in Abuko. 

He told supporters at the rally that they would “deal with Toufa Jallow after the release of the recommendations of the TRRC”.

The deputy spokesperson of the APRC party, Dodou Jah, confirmed that Rambo was called in for questioning.

“So they just asked him what he meant by that. He said we are going to take legal action for defamation of character over what she said about the former president and they let him him go.”
