President Adama Barrow on Friday had a closed door meeting with Senegal’s army chief General Cheikh Wade and his delegation at State House.

“Following his audience with President Barrow, General Wade stated that he is in The Gambia to meet with the Senegalese ECOMIG contingent, noting that the peace and security of The Gambia and Senegal is one of the most essential components in the two sisterly nations’ relations,” State House said in a statement.

“General Wade commended President Barrow for taking the time to meet with him and his delegation, adding The Gambia-Senegal bond is growing stronger.

“Chief of Defence Staff of The Gambia Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Yankuba Drammeh, accompanied the delegation to the presidency,” the statement added.
