The Gambia is being battered by rough and cold winds for the past days splattering dust all over which normally causes dry skins if not taken care.

The Gambia is a tiny West African nation in the Sahel region that experience the cold Harmattan season in December.

During this time, heavy clothes like jumpers and jackets and body oil like Shear Butter go scarce in the local markets as demand for them get high.

The Gambia being a developing country, dozens of people go for imported second-hand clothes from Europe, America and Asia for its cheap cost.

I spoke to one man who wants to remain unnamed. He said: “I want to buy these jackets clothes now before they get more costly because the cold season is near.”

But experts earlier warned against use of such second clothes amid the global  coronavirus pandemic.

They warned that the clothes could generate more infection if care isn’t taken on how consumers use the products after purchasing them in the market for use.
