Police have arrested at least 26 people in Sanyang days after violent protest rocked the coastal town following the death of Gibril Ceesay.

A source told Gambiana: “some of them were arrested by PIU personnel, who would just come at high speed as soon as the boys run and scatter, they will then be picked them off.”

The source continued that the families of the arrested youths don’t know their whereabouts still.

But the police are yet to make any comment on the issue.

A list of the arrested youths shared with Gambiana include the following names  Yahya Gaye, Lamin Jabang, Mbay Darboe, Lamin Singhateh, Bakary Jobe, Ousainu Badjie, Lamin Manneh [baddeh], Suwaibou Bojang, Bubacarr Sanneh, Omar Badjie, Lamin Alkaline, Pa Sallah, Lamin Camara, Abdou Kunta Fofana, Matar Touray, Alieu Nding , Kaly , Tapha Bah, Madi Balajor from Baku, Samsudeen Sanneh, Alhgie Bambo Simma Sy, Sam Bojang, Alagie Bah, Abdou Gikuma.
