Social Security and Housing Finance Corporation has given out D3 million grants to the health and education sectors in 2021 as part of its corporate social responsibility.

The corporation said some of the beneficiaries included Ndemban Clinic, which is being supported with D1.7 million, as contribution to the nation’s fight against the deadly coronavirus pandemic that has nearly paralysed businesses in the country.

SSHFC also said it was supporting Brikama Health Centre with a D2 million grant as part of its move to fund the major referral hospital in the West Coast Region.

“It is within our corporate social responsibility policy to sponsor or adopt a ward in all the major hospitals across the country and Social Security and Housing Finance Corporation has over the years supported the health sector by donating various equipment to these hospitals,” Fabuka Njaay, SSHFC Director of Corporate Affairs, told reporters.

Mr Njaay reassured his institution “would continue to strengthen the partnership with the health sector as this has a huge impact on the wellbeing of our members and the nation.”

He said the institution is committed in giving back to the Gambian society.
