Gambian winger Suleiman Camara enjoyed a dream debut for Slovan Bratislava after coming off the bench to score the equaliser before providing the assist for the winning goal in stoppage time as the Slovak champions defeated Swedish side Mjällby 2-1 in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League third qualifying round tie away from home.

Suleiman Camara was introduced in the 66th minute and made an immediate impact, restoring parity in the 78th minute before setting up the decisive goal deep into stoppage time to hand Slovan Bratislava a valuable first-leg advantage.

Fellow Gambian international Alasana Yirajang started the match for Slovan Bratislava and completed the full 90 minutes in an impressive team performance.

For Mjällby, Gambian midfielder Abdoulie Manneh was introduced in the 70th minute but could not prevent his side from suffering a late defeat.

Suleiman Camara’s outstanding debut will undoubtedly boost his confidence as he begins life with Slovan Bratislava, while the Slovak champions take a slender advantage into the return leg.
