Tensions have risen in Manjai following the reported arrest of two young men, after they were allegedly prevented from playing a football match at the town’s park.

The dispute involves a group identifying themselves as members of the Manjai community, who have been in conflict with local residents over the use and ownership of the park since last year.

In a video shared on Facebook, one community member said: “As you can see, Tijan has been arrested alongside John.”

The footage shows personnel from the Police Intervention Unit stationed at the park gate, while dozens of young people gather nearby.
