Berewuleng FC head coach Fakebba Saine has confirmed that his side will take part in the upcoming CAF Women’s Champions League after finishing the domestic league season unbeaten.
“Overall it was a very good season because if you look at our this year’s season and compare it to our previous season, we have better season compared to the previous season. We played all our games without losing and we conceded only 6 goals,” Saine said after the final match.

The coach credited the team’s steady improvement to a deliberate and disciplined process.
“Just to change the notion of what people are thinking that there is one team that is dominating the league. When I came I said it is a process, we are going gradually and I think we already reach there. It was not easy along the way but we try our level best and fought hard to make sure we make it and today it happened.”
Although they have secured the trophy, Saine reminded his players that their journey is far from over, especially with continental football on the horizon.
“Before coming out to receive our trophy, I told the players it is not yet over. We are going to receive the trophy today and we are going to celebrate but let us know how to celebrate. Let’s understand that we have two games ahead of us and we are also preparing to go for CAF Championship.”
Saine also spoke confidently about the club’s ability to remain competitive, even if there are changes in the squad.
“Actually for us it’s not a problem to develop players. We feel like sustainability is not going to be a problem to us. When others go, we recruit others to come. Even if half of the team is gone, we will try to fight hard. Although it will not be the way it is but we are going to fight hard to make sure we compete for people to know that with or without those players we can still compete.”
He called on authorities to increase the financial rewards in the women’s game to better support teams preparing for both local and international competitions.
“No actually I personally, I will want the price to be increased. Even if it can not be one million like the male are having but at least we could have get Seven to Eight Hundred Thousand Dalasi that will also help us to prepare better.”
