The Unite Movement for Change (UNITE) has dismissed reports suggesting that its application for registration has been rejected by the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC), describing the claims as misleading.

UNITE spokesperson Kemo Bojang clarified that the party’s registration process is ongoing and that the IEC has merely provided observations on technical and administrative aspects of its application forms.

“UNITE has not been rejected by the IEC. We submitted our application two months after launch, and the Commission formally communicated observations on certain technical and administrative matters. This is standard procedure for any new political party,” Bojang explained.

He added that the movement is engaging constructively with the electoral body and has already begun addressing the concerns raised to ensure compliance with all legal requirements.

Bojang reassured supporters nationwide that UNITE remains fully committed to participating in the upcoming elections.

“I want to assure Gambians that UNITE will contest the forthcoming elections. Our structures are being established across the country, and our focus remains firmly on the work ahead. We are confident the registration process will be concluded in due course,” he stated.

The party thanked the media for its interest and reiterated that its operations continue uninterrupted across the country as it prepares for formal recognition and electoral participation.
