Students at the University of Applied Science Engineering and Technology (USET) have announced plans to stage a peaceful protest on Wednesday, citing months of academic disruption and poor learning conditions.
The demonstration, set to begin at 9:00am on the university campus, comes in response to a series of grievances including a shortage of chairs and essential practical equipment, erratic lecture schedules, and indefinite postponement of final examinations.

A student who begged to remain anonymous said the situation has created growing anxiety and frustration.
“We are facing serious challenges,” it said.
“There are not enough chairs or tools for practical work, lectures are inconsistent, and the academic calendar is in disarray. We’re left in limbo.”
Students also expressed deep concern over the repeated rescheduling of their final exams, initially slated for 9 June.
According to the student, the exams were pushed first to 23 June, then to 30 June, and are now postponed indefinitely due to an ongoing sit-down strike by lecturers.
“These continuous delays are causing severe stress and uncertainty. Many of us are eager to complete our studies and move forward, but we are being held back without clear answers,” the student added.
The students are calling on university authorities and relevant stakeholders to intervene and provide immediate clarity.
“We are not protesting to cause disruption,” the statement added.
“We are simply asking to be heard. We want to draw attention to the conditions we’re enduring and demand the opportunity to pursue our education without further obstruction.”
USET officials have not yet responded to requests for comment.
