The late veteran journalist and documentary filmmaker Ebou Waggeh was laid to rest on Tuesday at Jeshwang Cemetery. 

Waggeh, 63, passed away yesterday at his home in Kanifing after a short illness. 

Hundreds of people gathered at the Independence Drive mosque for the funeral prayers and to bid farewell to the former GRTS broadcaster.  

A number of dignitaries, including the Defence Minister Sheikh Omar Faye, Information Minister, Ebrima Sillah, TRRC chairman, Dr Lamin Sise and Lead Counsel, Essa Faal applauded him for his stellar career and his contributions to Gambian journalism.
