Sanyang produced a remarkable comeback from three goals down to snatch a thrilling 3-3 draw against Kombo East at Dimphy’s Memorial Field in Faraba, home of Kombo East, in the 6th Edition of the West Coast Region Zonal Championship.

Kombo East appeared to be cruising towards victory after Yusupha Camara opened the scoring in the 17th minute before doubling the lead in the 61st minute.

Modou Lamin Njie then made it 3-0 just two minutes later, putting the hosts in a commanding position.

However, Sanyang refused to surrender. Lamin Saidy pulled one back in the 68th minute before Ebrima Conteh struck in the 70th minute to reduce the deficit to 3-2, setting up a tense finish.

Just when Kombo East looked set to hold on for all three points, Abubacarr Manjang struck deep into added time to complete Sanyang’s stunning comeback and earn his side a share of the spoils.

From three goals down to a dramatic late equaliser, Sanyang showed remarkable fighting spirit to leave Faraba with a point. At the same time, Kombo East will rue their inability to protect a commanding lead.
