Alhaji Tijan Jallow, father-in-law of Kanifing Municipality mayor Talib Ahmed Bensouda, has passed away.

According to a statement from the UNITE movement, Alhaji Jallow died on Saturday, 2 May 2026.

The news has been shared with supporters and sympathisers across the country.

UNITE expressed its condolences to Mayor Bensouda, his wife, and the wider family, describing the loss as a difficult moment and praying for strength and patience for those bereaved.

The movement also prayed for the late Alhaji Tijan Jallow to be granted eternal rest in Jannah.

Funeral arrangements are expected to be announced later.
