Police in the Upper River Region have launched a manhunt after six masked gunmen stormed Madinayel Village in Kantora District, unleashing a terrifying armed robbery spree.

The gang, all dressed in black coats, reportedly struck four shops late on Saturday night, making away with cash and valuables before vanishing across the border into Senegal.

Security forces,  including the Police Intervention Unit, Crime Scene Investigators, and Gambia Armed Forces, rushed to the scene moments after the attack, sealing off the area and collecting vital evidence.

Police have appealed for calm and urged residents to assist by sharing any information that could help track down the suspects.

Investigations are ongoing.
