President Adama Barrow has appointed Dr. Ismaila Ceesay, a senior political science lecturer and leader of the opposition Citizens Alliance as new minister of information.

He replaced Lamin Queen Jammeh as Barrow reshuffled his cabinet.

Dr Ceesay, a former political foe turned ally, backed Barrow’s re-election after his candidacy was rejected by the Independent Electoral Commission.

Barrow also appointed firebrand politician Momodou Sabally as special adviser. He replaced Mambangick Njie who was redeployed to the Foreign Service.
