President Adama Barrow has bought 1,000 tickets for Friday’s AFCON 2027 qualifier against Somalia, boosting efforts to fill the Independence Stadium and rally support for the Scorpions.

The Gambia will host Somalia on Friday, 25 September 2026, at 4pm GMT at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.

President Barrow and the First Family are expected to join fellow Gambians at the stadium as the Scorpions begin their AFCON 2027 qualifying campaign.

The President has called on Gambians to turn out in large numbers, wear the national colours with pride and give the national team their full support.
