President Adama Barrow has announced a reshuffle within The Gambia’s diplomatic service and the Gambia Maritime Administration.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Information on Tuesday, the president redeployed two senior diplomats with immediate effect. Foday Malang, who previously served as ambassador to Qatar, has been reassigned to Morocco. Meanwhile, Omar Jah, the ambassador-designate to Morocco, will now take up the post in Qatar.

According to the ministry, the changes are aimed at strengthening The Gambia’s diplomatic ties with key strategic partners.

In a separate development, the president has relieved Karamo Janneh of his duties as director of the Gambia Maritime Administration. He has been replaced by Olimatou Danso, who has been promoted to the role.

The government reiterated its commitment to professionalism and accountability in public service delivery.
