President Adama Barrow has said that civil servants who claim neutrality are opposition supporters as he pledged a crackdown against them.

Addressing a rally in Basse, Barrow said: “There are some civil servants who say they are not in politics, but that’s not true they are members of other political parties. Anyone’s office you go to, and the person says he or she is neutral, don’t believe them, they are with the opposition. We know those types of people and we are monitoring them keenly.”

However, Barrow’s comments during some of his meet-the-people tour have been condemned by some political commentators and opposition national assembly members.
