President Adama Barrow

The Gambian President Adama Barrow has doubled down on non-performing civil servants saying new reform will weed those individuals out in the system.

Speaking at a rally in Basse Mansajang Kunda, he said: “there are civil servants who, in the guise of political neutrality, undermine the system. Our reforms will monitor non-performing civil servants and weed them out. The new clocking system will address punctuality.”

He told the gathering that despite being Head of State, he ensures he goes to work on time.

On the region’s advancement, the president pledged his steadfast determination to bring development to the people.

However, he informed the gathering that all road works, especially the feeder roads, cannot be simultaneous in all the communities.

He said his government is decentralising infrastructure development throughout the country to ensure inclusive development.
